We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchase Department Manager to join our team at Lumens India. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchase department, including procurement of raw materials, supplier management, cost negotiations, and inventory control. Roles and Responsibilities:

· Procurement Strategy:

· Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's objectives and cost-saving goals.

· Identify cost-effective sources of supply while maintaining quality standards.

· Monitor market trends and industry developments to stay updated on the latest materials and pricing trends.

· Supplier Management:

· Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

· Negotiate supplier agreements, contracts, and terms to secure favorable conditions for the company.

· Continuously assess supplier performance and address any issues or non-compliance promptly.

· Inventory Management:

· Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing carrying costs.

· Implement inventory control systems and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

· Work closely with production and finance teams to forecast material requirements.

· Cost Control:

· Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

· Implement cost-saving initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.

· Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial objectives.

· Quality Assurance:

· Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased materials meet specified quality standards.

· Implement quality assurance processes to mitigate the risk of substandard materials entering the production process.

· Compliance:

· Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and supply chain activities.

· Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.

· Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

· Team Leadership:

· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchase department team.

· Set clear goals and expectations for team members and conduct performance evaluations.

Skills:

• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software.

• In-depth knowledge of leather and related materials is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in procurement.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
