Assistant Professor/ Accountant /Assistant (Consultant) /Typist Clerk job opportunities in National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities on contractual basis.

1. Director (Consultant) /1Post

Essential: i. Postgraduate Degree (Full time course) in any discipline of rehabilitation (recognized by RCI/MCI).

ii. 8 years experience in the related field. iii. At least two years of experience in administration. Desirable: i. Ph.D in the field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

Pay Scale : Rs. 70,000/-

2. Assistant Professor (PMR) (Consultant)/ 1Post

Essential: i. MBBS ii. PG degree/Diploma in PMR recognized by MCI/RCI.

Experience: i. Minimum 5 years experience in teaching/ research in related field.

Desirable: i. Ph.D in the field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

Pay Scale : Rs. 60,000/-

3. Assistant Professor (Speech & Hearing) (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Post Graduate Degree (Full time course) in Speech and Hearing (Recognized by RCI).

ii. Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching/research in the field of rehabilitation.

Desirable: i. Ph.D. in related field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

Pay Scale : Rs. 55,000/-

4. Assistant Professor (Clinical Psychology) (Consultant) /1Post

Essential: i. M.Phil. in Clinical or Rehabilitation Psychology (Full time course) recognised by RCI. ii. Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching/research in the field of rehabilitation.

Desirable: i. Ph. D in related field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

Pay Scale : Rs. 55,000/-

5. Assistant Professor (Special Education) (Consultant) /1Post

Essential: i. Master Degree with M.Ed. (Special Education.) (Full time course) in any category recognised by RCI. ii. Minimum of 55% marks in M.Ed. iii. Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching/research in the field of rehabilitation.

Desirable: i. Ph. D in related field of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

6. Lecturer (Physiotherapy) (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Master’s in Physiotherapy from a recognized Institute. ii. Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching/research in the field of rehabilitation.

Desirable: i. Possessing any RCI recognised qualification.

Pay Scale : Rs. 50,000/-

7. Administrative Officer (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Post Graduate Degree /MBA from recognized University. ii. Minimum 5 years experience in establishment/admin matters in any Govt. Organisation.

Pay Scale : Rs. 40,000/-

8. Rehabilitation Officer (Social Work & Placement (Consultant)/ 1Post

Essential: i. Post Graduate Degree in Social Work/Sociology/ MDRA/ Psychology or equivalent from a recognized University. ii. Minimum 4 years relevant experience.

9. Prosthetics & Orthotics (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics registered with RCI. ii. Minimum 4 years relevant experience.

10.Clinical Assistants (Consultants) /2 Posts

Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist)

Essential: i. B.Sc (Sp. & Hg.) equivalent. ii. Minimum 2 years experience. iii. Registration with RCI.

Clinical Assistant ( Developmental Therapist)

Essential: i. BRS (MR) / BMR / BRT / PGDDT / PGDEI / Bachelor / Masters in Rehabilitation Science or Equivalent. ii. Minimum 2 years experience in relevant field. iii. Registration with RCI.

11. Accountant (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Commerce graduate from a recognized University with hands on knowledge of computer and Tally. ii. Minimum 5 years experience in handling accounts/cash in Govt. or Semi Govt. establishments of which minimum 3 years experience of having worked in the related fields.

12. Assistant (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Graduate from a recognized University with knowledge of computer. ii. Minimum 5 years of experience in administrative works in Govt. departments / reputed organizations.

13. Workshop Supervisorcum-store Keeper (Consultant) /1Post

Essential: i. 10+2 or equivalent qualification. ii. Minimum 5 years experience in the concerned area.

Pay Scale : Rs. 25,000/-

14. Typist Clerk (Consultant) /1 Post

Essential: i. Higher secondary (10+2) or equivalent. ii. Typing Speed 35 wpm with computer knowledge. iii. Minimum 2 years relevant experience.

Pay Scale : Rs. 20000

Application Fee : Fee Rs. 500/- for each post should be sent in the mode of Demand Draft made in favour of Director, NIEPMD, payable at Chennai. SC/ST/PwD candidatures are exempted from payment of application fee.

This decade led to the emergence & proposal of the PwD (1995) Act and the National Trust (1999) Act in India. After the proposal of National Trust Act (1999),focus was given to Persons with Multiple Disabilities and there arose a need to start a National Institute exclusively for Empowerment of persons with Multiple Disabilities. To achieve the focus given above, National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) came in to an existence in the year 2005. The Institute is situated in a beautiful ambience on East coast road (ECR) Muttukadu, Chennai, which is 35 kilometers away from the Chennai Central station. Since the commencement in 2005 the services for Persons with Disabilities for single as well as Multiple disabilities as NIEPMD has been given on an outpatient basis through a multi-disciplinary team model, besides the cottage services and extension services.
