Job Title - Accountant

Chennai Retail Mart is a newly launching supermarket in Nungambakkam area of Chennai, India. We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in the office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a B.Com degree. Additional qualifications such as M.Com, MBA Finance etc. are welcome.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Monitor budgets and prepare reports on variances between actual and budgeted expenses.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws.
Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.

Requirements:

A minimum of a B.Com degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of experience as an Accountant or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks or other similar software.
Proficiency in GST filing and compliance with GST laws.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other teams.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Prior experience in retail accounting or supermarket accounting is preferred.
