Optum jobs - Accounting Clerk

This role supports M&R Medical Cost Accounting Team and it entails working on various month- end and post month-end processes like Journal Entry Preparation and Posting into GL, Reporting Activities, Cash Application and Preparation of Account Reconciliation in Blackline Tool. Some of the key deliverables include Med Cost Recons, Part D Prelims & Part D Recons, Setting up IBNR and other reserves for Med supp product. Co-ordination and communicate with Business counter parts on critical month end and other issues and resolving them. Additionally, this role also would require knowledge of System like People Soft General Ledger, Blackline Reconciliation Tool and Smart View.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
• Accurate and timely completion of all Prelim Recs
• Working on Blackline Account Reconciliation
• Working with month-end close activities and reporting
• Cash application

Required Qualifications

• Graduate / Post Graduate / Degree Holder (B Com / M Com)
• 2-3 years of Accounting experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Access and MS Word
• Good analytical and comprehension skills
• Eye for detail and quick learning abilities

• Good Accounting knowledge
• Exposure to PeopleSoft, Oracle, Blackline
• Month-end close knowledge
