Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
2. Document financial transactions by entering account information
3. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
4. Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
5. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
6. Work on maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
7. Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
8. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
9. Secure financial information by completing database backups
10. Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
11. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
12. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
13. Work on maintaining customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
14. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed

2
