Adv. Eng. Infra Eng.

Locations: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India

Career Area: Technology & Information Security

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

DBA support for MS SQL Server production, disaster recovery and non-production environments, including new database server installation and configurations, minor/major upgrades, system certifications, and implementations.
Develop and Support high availability (HA) solutions such as AlwaysOn Cluster, Log Shipping, Replication etc.
Provide extensive support for performance tuning and monitoring various databases. Support various business and application teams for database performance tuning related to business requirements.
Perform migrations from Oracle to MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL (On-premise and/or Cloud).
Design and certify next generation database technologies related to MS SQL Server 2017/2019, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS RedShift, MongoDB, CouchBase, Vertica etc.
Database deployments Windows, Cloud, and Linux platforms.
Develop and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
Automate database installation, configuration, management standards, and procedures based on industry best practices.
Improve uptime and reduce unplanned downtime through automation and proactive monitoring.
Establish and maintain access controls and security for all database environments (including CIS benchmarks).
Proactively maintain database systems at the latest security patch levels.
Provide support to our DBA operations team and our application teams.
Assist operations team in database installations, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and on-call after hours and weekend support if needed.
Mentor/Train our DBA operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases, provide knowledge transfer on a regular basis.
Develop best practices and enforce these standards across the team
Remain up to date with developments and trends in the database arena.
