Role overview: 

Here is an exciting opportunity that allows you to work with UAS (unmanned aerial systems)/Drones and related solutions. An aerospace engineer is required to design and develop unmanned systems and work on engineering solutions across our product suite. The requirement is immediate, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about UAS/Drones and aerospace systems in general. 

Background in Aerospace Engineering (Degree),Product Design and other relevant studies is required. Good understanding of Aerospace or Automotive principles and technologies and knowledge of structural & mechanical engineering design. The focus will be on lightweight structure design, airframe design, part design and assemblies, including surface design. 

You will be required to work in a start-up environment, must have skills across the full system lifecycle of unmanned aerial systems and be passionate about working in the aerospace industry.

This is a full-time position. 

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design and development of new Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) such as Multi-rotor and Fixed wing including UAV Propulsion systems, control & communication systems and sensors.
• Perform computer-based design simulation to prove out design performance and compliance with product specifications
• Implement and perform validation tests and design-proving tests.
• Lead the development of component specifications, failure mode avoidance disciplines and core design validation.
• Plan or conduct experimental, operational, or stress tests on models or prototypes of aircraft or aerospace systems or equipment
• Formulate mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design, according to customer engineering requirements.
• Using mathematics, scientific, and engineering principles to design, repair, and improve unmanned systems, component parts, materials, safety regulations, and manufacturing processes
• Plan or coordinate activities concerned with investigating and resolving customers' reports of technical problems with aircraft or aerospace vehicles.
• Write technical reports or other documentation, such as handbooks or bulletins, for use by staff, management, or customers
• Work on UAV/Drone power & electronic systems assembly.
• Assist team in UAV prototype design and assemble prototypes
• Onsite UAV testing, operations and demonstration activities.
• Developing unmanned, semi-autonomous solutions through both software and hardware integration of sensors, cameras, actuators, and remote controllers
• Support new business activities such as writing and assisting in creating proposals 
• Support business development and sales activities as and when required

Experience, Knowledge and Requirements:



• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering discipline
• 1-3 years industry experience.
• Knowledge of techniques for UAV / UAS design for manufacture, assembly, test and maintenance.
• Experience across full system lifecycle of unmanned vehicles i.e. design of multi-rotor system, fixed wing system, UAV structure, UAV material including composite part detail followed by development, prototype testing and commercialization of product.
• Prior or current experience in designing & building UAV/drones of all types(professionally) 
• Knowledge of cutting foam with hot wire/Hot wire CNC 
• Ability to select and source UAV components, motors, ESC, flight controllers etc.
• CAD designing, CAD simulation and performance analysis.
• Understanding of appropriate manufacturing and quality control processes.
• Aero-modelling experience.
• Familiar with industry standards for the manufacture, repair and assembly of composite components for aerospace. 
• Should be able to pilot multi rotors fixed wings with high precision
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a changing environment on complex projects 
• Outstanding teamwork and an ability to interact with external and internal partners on fast-paced projects
• Creativity, strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills 
• Self-starter and ability to work in a small start-up ecosystem
