Job Description

  • Air Traffic Controllers need to be hardworking people who are extremely cautious and think before every action they take. 
  • They must be able to work under pressure without making any mistakes, since they have a large number of lives in their hands. 
  • Air traffic controllers must be able to solve problems on a typical day at work, and they should be able to take initiative and must need always need direction from their superiors. 
  • Air traffic controllers at busy international airports should be fluent in English and they must be able to work in a team.
  •   A good eye sight and a calm attitude are also necessary to succeed as air traffic controller.
  • Air traffic controllers include, but are not limited to, keeping in constant contact with all aircraft looking to land or take off at the airport, directing pilots to alter the altitude of their aircraft and assigning a cruising level, ensuring that planes have a safe minimum distance between them, directing a plane to a runway, both when it is landing and taking off, as well as delaing with any emergencies that may arise.
