Job Description
- Greeting and welcoming passengers, and responding to questions.
- Checking in baggage.
- Making reservations.
- Selling airline tickets.
- Stocking aircraft with refreshments.
- Cleaning aircraft after flights.
- Assisting disabled passengers and those with small children.
- Manning the check-in counters that serve departing passengers. Then, the duties include checking the passengers in for their flights, redirecting or rebooking guests whose flights have moreover been delayed or canceled, and giving updates to passengers who are staying in the lobbies.
- Manning the arrival and departure gates. This involves attending to guests before they board, after they land, or when they’re changing between flights.
- Performing cabin services to make sure that passengers are safe during their flights. Cabin services include drawing and restocking the airplanes before the passengers can board them.
- Issuing tickets to passengers.
- Assisting passengers by answering questions, giving directions, or attending to their other requirements. This includes helping passengers with investigations about delayed or lost baggage.
- Taking reservations from passengers who call in.
- Aiding passengers with luggage check-ins at the ticket counter.
- Make sure that all baggage is delivered.
- Confirming the identities of passengers, and giving them boarding passes.
- In some cases, ground staff may be responsible for screening passengers and their luggage for protection purposes.
- Giving special support to disabled passengers. Outside the terminal, the ground staffs are responsible for
- Loading and unloading bags and other luggage to and from the airplane.
- Helping passengers and the flight crew to get on and off the airplane by giving the stairs.
- Pointing to the pilots which taxi spots they should use after the airplane has landed.
