Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThis role is an individual contributor role, responsible for on-site installation, maintenance and repair of IBM logo hardware, software and operating systems. You will be the primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and/or software support and delivery of operational services as required by the clientResponsibilities: - Manage the scope of Hardware Maintenance (with OS- AIX & Linux) including onsite monitoring, administration, management and maintenance of the entire IBM infrastructure
- Manage overall IBM logo products during the day and maintain the service levels
- SLA : 100% calls to be resolved within 4 hours for critical calls, within 24 hours for major and minor calls or as per respective SLA duration whichever is lower
- Perform services activities such as systems assurance, installation planning, account management, systems-level problem determination, discontinuance and relocation of IBM systems and products
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction with service delivery, technical support and operational services for the client account(s)
- In critical situations be the IBM technical interface to clients and manage the situation until the problem is fixed.
- Articulate, IBM's technical support strategy
- Advise clients of preventive maintenance, configuration, operation and environmental factors which may impact product performance or impair client's IT operation
Required Technical and Professional Expertise- Minimum 4+ years of experience in IT industry
- Experience in operation and Maintenance IBM Power Systems, AIX / Linux and Storage
- Proven knowledge on the fundamental concepts and technologies associated with AIX Operating Systems (Hardware, Software)
- Ability to perform installation, implementation, customization, operation, recovery and performance tuning
- Demonstrable experience in AIX System Administrator and support various flavors of Unix servers along with experience in HA & VCS cluster technologies
- Validated expertise in backup reports and Initiate actions on backup failure against specific documentation. Implement changes, perform security related tasks, identify and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures
- Proficient in patching AIX 6 and 7 / patching Linux version 5, 6 and 7, Update/upgrade OS by requests and all related works
- Willingness to work in nights shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs
