Suppliers

·         Develop suppliers in regional locations to meet growing demands in life cycle business.

·         Negotiate, develop and implement supply agreements and contracts for all material & service requirement at sites.

·         Strategic supplier selection, qualification and development of new suppliers in conjunction with local internal stakeholders and global procurement and quality teams.

·         Responsible for maximising overall supplier performance across a consolidated, competent and reliable vendor base, to meet Metso’s business objectives (cost savings targets, strong delivery performance and high-quality products and services).

·         Develop a structured supplier performance management program for critical suppliers to assess capabilities, KPI’s and improvement initiatives; and to manage supply chain risks.

·         Lead supplier negotiations to improve commercial terms, supply chain performance, to lower total costs and mitigate risks.

Savings

·         Lead cost reduction initiatives in conjunction with key business stakeholders.

·         Negotiate and implement sourcing arrangements that deliver cost savings.

·         Support the negotiation of one-time transactional savings as required.

Business Alignment and Support

·         Align with internal departments to fully understand their requirements, to form strong stakeholder relationships, and to provide strategic procurement support.

·         Support the Metso business line strategies and requirements and proactively drive initiatives to meet sourcing objectives.

·         Collaboratively work with internal customers to develop strategic category plans and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.

Operational Procurement

·         Closely monitor and manage supplier performance, in conjunction with the Operational Procurement Manager, to ensure strong levels of operational procurement performance are achieved.

·         Support operational procurement (as needed) in delivery expediting, managing pricing issues, managing quality issues and supplier escalation.

Other Responsibilities

·         Support the continuous improvement of sourcing processes and procedures, ensuring best procurement practices and procedures according to the Metso Code of Conduct.

·         Ensure price list and procurement data are updated in SAP for assigned materials.
