Job Description

We are looking for an android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of android devices including mobile phones and tablet computers. Your primary focus will be the development of native android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be directly working with co-founders and other developers. Being part of a small team, you will have space and opportunity to tinker into product development, feature development and critical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Design and build applications for the android platform (native app)
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
Help maintain code quality, improve code standards to suit product needs to suit quality and scale

Experience requirement

Minimum 3+ years of experience as android developer
BE/BTech, ME/MTech or equivalent

Skills

Proficient with java and android
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services
Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
Understanding of design principles and interface guidelines
Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as Instruments and Shark, depending on project needs
Familiarity with Google cloud message APIs and push notifications
Familiarity with chat app development with multimedia send/receive
A knack for benchmarking and optimization
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git
Familiarity with continuous integration
