We are looking for a senior mobile app developer to lead the design, development and maintenance of Window, Android apps. The developer will lead the entire app life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and post launch support. Apps will be mainly content based and integrated closely with web sites.
Main tasks and responsibilities :
Acting as lead Android developer- Deliver across the entire app life cycle - concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and supportWorking directly with developers and product managers to conceptualise, build, test and realise productsGather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutionsBuild prototypes at the tech scoping stage of projectsWorking along the web developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support the appsWorking with the front end developers to build the interface with a focus on usability featuresCreate compelling device specific user interfaces and experiencesStandardising the platform and in some cases, apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effortOptimising performance for the appsKeep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologiesExplain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders Person specification :
Proven commercial software development experience - desktop and mobilePublished examples of mobile applications on the App store or the Android marketExcellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principlesA track record of delivering successful consumer and or business productsAbility to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decisionsA passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscapeAbility to multi task and good time management skillsAbility to work on their own and as a part of the teamExcellent scoping, estimation skills and testing/ QA skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments locally and internationally
Essential skills : Android -
Strong OO design and programming skills in Java (J2EE/ J2ME)Familiar with the Android SDKKnowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management systemFamiliar with EclipseUnderstanding of other compiled languages- Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)Experience of development using web technologiesGood understanding of OO programming and design patternsGood understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax and PHP, Kotlin- Experience building web and native appsExperience using social media APIsUsing version control (e.g. SVN)Excellent debugging and optimisation skills Desirable skills :Creative design skillsExperience with Payment processing, payment gateway
