MSCI has an immediate opening for a Vice President, Program Management. This should be an experienced technology lead, who is able to drive changes across the organization, as part of the firm’s One MSCI initiative around modernizing our technology and buildout of the next generation financial tech software. This is a middle-tier (services, apis) position, with opportunities to drive the development agenda in areas around data, analytics, user experience, machine learning, cloud engineering, and more.
Responsibilities

Understand the landscape within MSCI, covering both the technology and business.
Work with your manager to:
- Build a technical vision for the different pieces, thinking holistically about the architecture, the technical debit, and aligning the business/technical vision
- Build the roadmap around the API strategy for MSCI, as a part of the One MSCI Architecture.
- Continue to improve how we execute, applying/continuing the work done earlier to transform Analytics with agile in addition to ensure that the engineers have what they need to optimally execute
- Working across the departments to build partnerships and communicate what the organization is doing, lining up the dependencies
- Build a combined vision, strategy, and execution plan – prior experience doing this is critical, as well as driving both new and mature businesses. The plans will need to map to both the needs of the business (e.g. growing revenue) as well as the needs of technology
- Help modernize the tech culture and engineering systems/lifecycle of MSCI, driving changes in the culture, growing engineering velocity, defining standards across tech, building a combined engineering & dev ops team, and improving time to get code into production.
Become a strong partner with the engineering team, product management, and research teams.
Drive the software development lifecycle, from inception to delivery, including the management of large-scale services driven within an agile/scrum system (if not familiar with agile, will need to learn).
Participate in large scale efforts around One MSCI, such as building out a north star architecture and standard data models.

Desired Experience And Qualifications

Experience in collaboration around building visions, driving execution, making critical tradeoffs.
Experience in communicating to all levels of a company, as well as customers.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science.
Experience with Financial Tech
Experience with data and/or analytics.
Experience delivering and maintaining highly available large-scale systems.
Familiarity with open source software systems and methodologies
Familiarity with DevOps or Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery.
Background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Lean, and Kanban
