Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As CIO SDM Costing application Architect for the new GBS SDM, you are responsible for costing development and support squad we are starting to staff in Bangalore.

Responsibilities:

• You are responsible to define the product/solution architecture, and describe how elements of the technologies interoperate in the solution/product architecture.
• You are responsible for defining the product/solution roadmap in line with business unit strategy.
• You have analytical ability and creativity in anticipating trends, knowledge of leading-edge products/technology and industry in order to effectively participate on business unit and IBM Architectural Boards and also keep the development community up-to-date about standards bodies and technologies that may be employed to create IBM's solutions/products.
• You are responsible to work closely with global product teams to achieve common domain goal and vision and also to work closely with Strategy and Discovery squad to align product goal.
• You are responsible to provide technical oversight and direction to product development team and can capture the stakeholders' needs, expectations and constraints;
• Confident in dealing with all levels of stakeholders such as: SMEs from each BU, end users, Product Owner (and Proxy),architects, developers, testers, managers, etc
• Strong verbal and written communications skills in both business and technical languages including presentation skills and should be able to communicate across the hierarchy of management and influence the user experience improvement in the area of work;
• Be able to take responsibility for successful project, guiding team members in business and requirements knowledge;

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Key skills: Java, J2EE, Javascript, Cloud Technologies, CI & CD, Micro services, Application Integration, Web services

• Minimum 10 + years of relevant experience primarily on Java/J2EE based Rich Thick Client based applications.
• Strong web/enterprise application development experience
• Experience in data modelling and design.
• Expertise with both UI and Backend Java based applications technology stacks like Golang, React, Angular JS
• Expertise with different design patterns for Application Architecture and industry best practices for a number of application design concerns including security, modularity & robustness, performance & scalability, deployment, supportability etc.
• Experience with componentized architecture using MicroServices.
• Exposure to Standard Carbon Based web UI development is a plus.
• Good expertise of IBM cloud technology stacks.
• Knowledge of highly scalable, distributed publish-subscribe framework like Kafk

• Cirrus, Openshift and most advanced UI based technolgies
