Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society invites applications for the position of Application Developer

Essential Qualification B.E/ B.Tech (Computer Science/ IT/ Electronic & Telecommunication) or any Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Bachelor’s Degree in Science with MCA/ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application with MCA.

Essential Experience:

At least 5 years experience in Mobile application development, preferably with 2 years on Android/IOS-based GIS applications.
Expertise in at least two of the following domains: GIS Application Design, Mobile GIS Development, Android Application Development, Android/ IOS UI Development, Mobile Database Design, Client Server Programming, HTML with CSS, SQL, and RDBMS Administration.

Preferable:

Applicants must have a working knowledge of office productivity applications like word, excel, etc.
Applicants must have good experience in finding solutions to issues from Internet and web applications independently
A thorough understanding of GIS & geography concepts like GIS data types, coordinate systems, etc. is a must
Good written, oral, and graphic communication skills are desirable

Job Description: The Application Developer will contribute to the development & maintenance of Mobile applications/ modules for the Geomatics Centre primarily focusing on GIS.

Specifically, the Application Developer is expected to perform the following:

Design, develop, release & maintain mobile applications based on Android OS, Windows Mobile OS, and IOS.
Design and develop easy-to-use intuitive user interfaces for mobile applications including GIS, MIS Multimedia, etc.
Design and develop back-end database, data conversion, and presentation algorithms for mobile applications.
Integrate spatial and non-spatial data from databases, files, and external data sources with mobile applications.
Any other works assigned by the Authority as and when required.

Scope of Work: Support to GIS & MIS wing of PMU in OFSDS.
Responsible for Design, development, release &maintenance of mobile applications GIS Cell
Report to State Programme Manager, I/c (GIS, MIS & Website),PMU, OFSDP-II

Monthly Remuneration: Consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.50,000/-

The Orissa Forestry Sector Development Society is registered under the Societies Act bearing registration no 22321/49 of 2006-07 by the Registrar of Societies, Odisha at Cuttack.
Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) has been constituted as an autonomous organization under the Forest and Environment Department, primarily for the implementation of the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP) which was implemented from 2006-07 up to 2014-15with financial assistance from JICA i.e. Japan International Cooperation Agency (formerly known as JBIC - Japan Bank of International Cooperation). Presently, the society is implementing OFSDP Phase-II and Ama Jangala Yojana (AJY). The Society has a High Power Committee headed by Chief Secretary, Odisha with other 14 members and 07 members in the Governing Body chaired by ACS, F&E Department. The Project Director, OFSDS is the Member Secretary for both the above committees.
