Apprentices job Position in Western Railway

Western Railwayinvites ONLINE applications from interested Applicants for engagement as Act Apprentices against the 3553 slots notified for training in the designated Trades under Apprentice Act 1961 at various Divisions, Workshops within the jurisdiction of Western Railways for the year 2018-19.

Trades : Fitter/Welder (G&E)/ Turner/ Machinist/ Carpenter/ Painter (General)/ Mechanic (DSL)/ Mechanic (Motor Vehicle)/ Programming & System Administration Assistant/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Wireman/ Mechanic Refridgeration & AC / Mechanic LT & Cable/ Pipe Fitter/ Plumber/ Draftsman (Civil)

Qualifications : Matriculate or 10th Class in 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognized Board.

Technical Qualifications : ITI certificate affiliated to NCVT/SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade

Stipend : Act Apprentices will be paid stipend at the minimum rate as under:-

1. During the first year of training : - 70% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union Territory

2. During the second year of training :- 80% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union Territory

3. During the third year of training : - 90% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union Territory

Age Limit : The Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age. SC/ST/OBC- Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years in case of SC/ST applicants and 03 years in case of OBC Applicants. Persons with Disability (PWD) :- Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years

Payment of Fees :

Application fees (Non-refundable) – Rs. 100/-.

No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/PWD/Women Applicants.

Western Railway in its present form came into existence on 5th November, 1951 by the merger of its forerunner, the erstwhile Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI),with other State Railways viz, Saurashtra, Rajputana and Jaipur. The BB&CI Railway was itself incorporated in 1855, starting with the construction of a 29 mile broad gauge track from Ankleshwar to Utran in Gujarat state on the West Coast. In 1864, the railway was extended up to Mumbai. Subsequently, the project was further extended beyond Baroda in a north easterly direction towards Godhra, Ratlam, Nagda and thereafter northwards towards Mathura to eventually link with the Great India Peninsula Railway, now Central Railway, which had already started operating in Mumbai in 1853. In 1883, a Metre Guage Railway system, initially linking Delhi with Agra, Jaipur and Ajmer, was established.
