Job Family Description:

  • Minimum Educational Background: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Job Scope and Guidelines:

  • Directing all transportation activities.
  • Full responsibility for managing a mixed in house fleet and drivers responsible for daily deliveries and multi-drop route planning across a 24/7 operation.
  • Monitoring transport costs. Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets.
  • You will be responsible for delivering process improvements and driving delivery efficiency and best practice through the team.
  • Negotiating and bargaining transportation prices.
  • Confronting climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitoring an organization’s carbon footprint.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
  • Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
  • Assc Dir Transport Services is responsible for organizing and overseeing all health and safety checks and routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements.
  • Owns an end to end process.
  • Develops functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities.
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team.
  • Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external).
