An Electrical Site Engineer oversees electrical installations, testing, and maintenance at construction sites, ensuring compliance with technical codes and safety standards. They manage subcontractors, monitor project schedules, and resolve technical issues on-site. Key responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing material submittals, and ensuring installations meet quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision: Monitor daily installation of electrical services (low voltage/low current) to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
Quality Control & Testing: Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
Documentation: Review and prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation.
Project Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, civil) to ensure seamless installation and adherence to timelines.
Resource Management: Prepare material take-offs, bills of quantities (BOQ), and manage onsite resources.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all works are performed in accordance with health and safety standards (PPE, risk assessments).
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Previous experience in site supervision, preferably in construction or building services.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and MS Office.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of local and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).
