Key duties and responsibilities

• Assemble components: Fit and fasten parts together using tools, adhesives, or other methods to create a complete product.

• Read and interpret instructions: Follow technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications to ensure correct assembly.

• Perform quality checks: Inspect parts and finished products to identify and resolve any functionality or quality issues.

• Operate machinery: Set up and operate hand-controlled or computer-controlled machinery and equipment.

• Maintain the work area: Keep the workspace clean, organized, and safe, following all safety and environmental procedures.

• Record data: Document production numbers, material usage, and other relevant information, often using a computer system.

• Package and prepare products: Pack finished items with protective materials, label them, and prepare them for shipment. 

Skills and qualifications

• Technical skills: Proficiency with various assembly tools, including hand and power tools, and the ability to read technical diagrams and specifications.

• Physical abilities: Good dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and the stamina to stand or sit for long periods.
