Job Description

Preparing design documents and drawings, including sketches, diagrams, charts, and schematics

Analyzing safety issues and potential hazards to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards

Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine feasibility of design

Determining electrical needs for construction projects such as hospitals, office buildings, manufacturing plants, or residential communities

Conducting research on new technologies related to electrical engineering

Working with contractors or other construction staff during the building phase of a project to ensure that the electrical design is implemented properly

Performing calculations and other tasks related to engineering designs and projects

Writing reports about findings and presenting them to clients or other stakeholders

Creating electrical engineering designs that meet client needs, such as computer networks or automated machinery
