Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka
Will be responsible for handling legal advisory, legal documentation, drafting legal notices, regulatory support, contractual risks, contract obligations, litigations, due diligence and dealing with local and government authorities as per the business requirement
Key responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate and close vendor and client contracts as per the AXA global standards
- Work closely with the procurement and operations teams to ensure that pricing details and scope is captured as per the requirement of the company
- Be responsible for the effective and efficient management of legal and compliance department, provision of legal advisory services and ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks and contract compliance
- Resolve routine legal issues
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure non-compliance has been identified and appropriate courses of action have been taken
- Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
- Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and provide support to the juniors and seniors in the team
- Capable of handling legal outsourced projects and legal services for Global AXA entities
- Well versed in LPO and the leading industry software like Relativity, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw etc.
Key skills:
- LL.B./LL.M. from a recognized school or university in India
- At least 4 to 5 years of legal experience ideally in a leading organisation, with a proven track record in legal aspects, contract review, drafting, negotiation and contract management
- Knowledge of corporate and commercial law
- Knowledge of local, national and international laws
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interaction with clients, internal departments, negotiation parties and government officials
- Coordination with various teams in AXA BS Pune and Bangalore for ensuring deliverables are effectively communicated and met
- May involve domestic and international travel
