Job Description

We are looking to hire talented finance professionals for multiple roles based out of our Mumbai office. In this role, the individual will be a part of the growing finance shared services team and will be partnering with stakeholders in India and overseas offices. The successful candidate should have a strong Taxation background, customer-oriented, desire to drive efficiency improvements, passion for people development and growth mindset. The role will offer opportunities for future career development and progression within the finance function in India and MM offices in other international locations.

Key Responsibilities

Understanding the business, building relationships and interacting with stakeholders to provide excellent tax advisory expertise on business transactions.
Undertaking comprehensive research and analyzing various technical tax issues and presenting the analysis and recommendations to India finance and regional tax function.
Preparation, coordination and review of information for income tax, transfer pricing filings for the group’s companies and branches in India. This will involve working with the Regional / UK Finance team to develop efficient corporate income tax processes and ensuring consistency with local laws and accounting standards
Critically analyzing tax submissions and providing technical insights while managing tax audits and coordinating appeals with the tax authorities.
Planning and implementing efficient tax strategies to minimize the tax rate and withholding taxes. This will involve working with the Group Tax and Regional Finance teams to optimize the statutory structure and implement global tax initiatives including transfer pricing.
Liaising with business partners to keep them informed of tax issues and legislative changes; providing advice on the tax implications of transactions; and reviewing terms and conditions in tenders, contracts, and agency agreements to ensure tax-efficient operations. This will include the coordination of external advisors where required.
Reviewing the accuracy and ensuring timely reporting of tax figures in local accounts and for group reporting purposes.
Supporting with tax compliances in Nepal and Bangladesh

Candidate Specification

Qualified Chartered Accountant with minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in international taxation.
In-depth knowledge of Corporate Income Taxes and Transfer Pricing
Should have basic knowledge of Companies Act and Accounting Standards
Relevant experience at Big 4 and/or corporate tax department in medium / large MNC
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong relationship building ability
Flexible to work with changing environment
Willingness to undertake business travel (International and domestic)
