Assistant Professor /Associate Professor /Professor recruitment in Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram

01. Assistant Professor Grade II

Basic Pay at the entry level would be Rs.70,900 at Academic Pay Matrix level 10 in 7th CPC

Qualification: Ph.D.

Additional Desirable Requirements : One Publication in an SCI Journal

02. Assistant Professor Grade I

Basic Pay at the entry level would be Rs.1,01,500 at Academic Pay Matrix level 12 in 7th CPC

Qualification: Ph.D. 03 years after Ph.D or 06 years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) after obtaining M.Tech. degree.

Relevant Experience: 02 papers in SCI Journals outside Ph.D. work. One ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia. Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.

Additional Desirable Requirements : One Ph.D supervision ongoing; 01 patent; Experience in industry or R&D lab of repute; M.Tech, MSc or B Tech project supervision on live industrial problems.

03. Associate Professor

Basic Pay at the entry level would be Rs.1,39, 600 at Academic Pay Matrix level 13A2 in 7th CPC.

Qualification: Ph.D 06 years after Ph.D or 09 Years total (not counting Ph.D Enrolment period) out of which 03 years should be after Ph.D. Three years at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP of Rs.8000 or its equivalent in 7th CPC at a reputed university, R&D Lab or relevant industry.

Relevant Experience : 04 Papers in SCI journals after Ph.D; one Ph.D guided as sole or principal supervisor plus one continuing. Two projects ongoing or one ongoing plus one completed. Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate. Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self financed short term courses.

Additional Desirable Requirements : 01 or more patents; supervising two or more students for Ph.D; strong liaison with industry; Offering courses through application of ICT

04. Professor

Basic Pay at the entry level would be Rs.1,59,100/- at Pay Academic Matrix level 14A in 7th

Qualification: Ph.D CPC 10 years after Ph.D or 13 years total (not counting Ph.D enrolment period) out of which 07 years are to be after Ph.D.; At least three years to be at Associate Professor level in an institution of repute.

Relevant Experience : Two Ph.D. degrees guided in Career as sole or principal supervisor. The following during the past 04 years; (i) 03 papers in SCI Journals; (ii) One High value sponsored or consultancy project; (iii) Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as coordinator and main teacher; (iv) Two experiments or computational design projects with added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.

Additional Desirable Requirements : One or more Patents, Supervised more than three students for Ph.D. Preparing ELearning material. Atleast one selffinanced short term course offered every year. Strong liason with industry. Offering significant support to Institute management; High value sponsored or consultancy projects.

Eligible Degrees for Consideration:

1. Computer Science and Engineering

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/ Electrical Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering and M.E/M.Tech/M.Des in Computer Science and Engineering /Information Technology or its equivalent along with Ph.D Degree in Computer Science and Engineering in the subject areas viz. Computer Architecture / High Performance Computing / Parallel Computing / Algorithm Design / Operating Systems / OS Kernels / Device Drivers / Computer Networks / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Data Mining / Pattern Recognition / Information Security / Recommender Systems / Health Care Informatics / Big Data Analytics or its relevant areas.

2. Electronics & Communications Engineering

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech and M.E/M.Tech/M.Des in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering or its equivalent along with Ph.D Degree in Electronics Engineering / Electronics and Communication Engineering in the subject areas viz. Analog / Digital / Mixed Signal/ VLSI Circuit Design / RF/ Microwave / Antenna / Digital Signal Processing / Biomedical Signal Processing / Image Processing / Physical layer Communication / Networking or its relevant areas.

3. Mechanical Engineering

Qualification: B.E/B.Tech and M.E/M.Tech/M.Des in Mechanical Engineering/ /Aerospace Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Instrumentation / Production/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Mechatronics/ CAD/CAM/ CIM or its equivalent along with Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering in the subject areas viz. Manufacturing / Smart Manufacturing / Production Engineering or its relevant areas.

4. Design

Qualification: B.Des, M.Des and PhD in Design or Engineering graduates with at least one degree in Design at Masters or PhD level in the subject area of Product Design or its relevant areas.

Mode of Selection: The selection process consists of two phases b) Interview The shortlisted candidates will be invited to give seminar presentation before the duly constituted committee. Only the candidates recommended by the committee based on their performance in the seminar presentation shall attend interview before the selection panel.
