The Department of Fashion at JD Institute of Fashion Technology invites applicants for a full-time lecturer position with a starting month of August 2020.

We seek a colleague with significant professional experience, actively engaged in Foundation Art and Illustration and well versed in both traditional and digital media.

The Candidate should also be prepared to teach illustration at all collegiate levels, undergraduate and graduate, from beginning to advanced courses.

Education Qualification: Master's in Fine Art or Fashion (Preferred)Preference will be given to the candidate who is having experience as a Fashion Artist or Fashion

Designer in the domestic or global markets, superior in sketching skills, fabric rendering etc.

A professional portfolio is essential

Required Experience: Minimum 2+2 - Teaching + Industry

Salary – 30 – 60 K depending on the level of experience and skill-set

Roles and Responsibilities:Teaching:

 The Candidate should be well versed with all the methods of communication and teaching practices to ensure a smooth learning process with effective delivery.

 The Candidate is expected to come up with unique ideas and suggestions to enhance the learning experience of students.

 You must demonstrate strong verbal skills and understand the needs of students from all backgrounds.

Mentoring:

 The candidate is expected to mentor the students towards the course, curriculum, industry market and guide them in the right direction. Administrative services:

 Must keep a track of all the course details, submission and attendance of the students as per the university guidelines and requirements.

 Preparing and creating content for the syllabus or a module and updating it on our Learning

Management System (LMS) regularly.

Other roles:

 Create an interface with industry through workshops and seminars and assist students with placements and internships

 Be a part of all the design events and co-curricular activities and encourage students for the same
 Active involvement in our Annual events and Design Awards and coming up with creative ideas and innovations.

 Brainstorming and executing creative installations to enhance the look and feel of the campus on a quarterly basis.

 Any other committee or panel work as per the need for the smooth functioning of the department.

Key Skills and Requirements:

 The Candidate who can actively play roles like Mentor, Trainer, Advisor, Researcher, and educator.

 Good Vocabulary and English proficiency is a must.

 The Candidate should have an in-depth understanding of historical and contemporary art and, commercial applications of illustration and design, with traditional and digital methodologies.

 Strong leadership skills, and be able to multitask and work with enthusiasm.

 The candidate should possess excellent knowledge of Design Principles and processes.

 Should be able to develop personal styles for illustration (a combination of hand-drawn and digital style, stylized croquis)

 Should understand design from a technical perspective

 Good team player and pro-activeness

 Specialized skills with the software’ pertaining to the respective field.
