Initially affiliated to the University of Madras, Periyar University and later on to Anna University. Later, elevated to Deemed University status and hence forth, it has been a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be university) in 2004. At present the institution has 8 branches under UG & 4 specialization program under PG along with MBA under various specialization offering higher educations.
