Qualification : Candidates having Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum standards and procedures for award of Ph.D Degree) regulation. 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. The candidates must have good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale) at the master's degree level in the concerned subject. A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided to SC/ST/PWD candidates- A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided to the Ph.D holders who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19th September. 1991. The candidate has to acquire qualifications as on the last date for submitting applications. Eligibility like M. Phil./Ph.D./Seminar Papers/ Publications can be acquired and submitted on date of interview and not beyond.

Age Limit : Age of the candidates should not be more than 38 years as on 01.012019 with relaxation of 5 Years for SC/ST/PWD candidates and 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates. The candidates must have Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) and must know local language- In service candidates must apply through proper channel with NOC obtained from the concerned authority.

Gauhati Commerce College, situated at the northern most end of R.G. Barooah Road, Chandmari, Guwahati-781021 is one of the most promising institutions of the state of Assam and also of the entire north-east India imparting business education at Higher Secondary, Degree and Post Graduate levels. The college was founded on 10th September in the year 1962. Starting with an enrollment of meager 300 students, the college has, over the years, attained a solid state of full-fledged growth having an enrollment of 3000 plus students and registering flourishing progress on all activities, both academic and co-curricular. The performance of the students of the college at the Higher Secondary, Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Examinations under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council and Gauhati University respectively have all along been remarkable, its students occupying the top positions each year and pass percentage usually standing above 80 and on several occasions having moved above 90.
