Minimum Qualifications as given in the notification under reference:

i. Ph.D Degree in the relevant field and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch

ii. At least total 6 research publications in SCI Journals / UGC/ AICTE approved list if journals.

iii. Minimum of eight years of experience in teaching/ research / industry out of which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D experience

For post notified vide Open - 01 of the Vacancy Notification under reference:

i. Ph.D Degree in Laser Instrumentation/ Laser Plasma and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in Physics / Electronics / Photonics / Applied Optics / Opto Electronics and Laser Technology.

ii. At least total 6 research publications in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals.

iii. Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience.

For post notified vide SC - 01 of the Vacancy Notification under reference:-

i. Ph.D Degree in Photonics/ Optoelectronics and Laser Technology/ Fibre Optics and First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in Physics / Electronics / Photonics / Applied Optics / Opto Electronics and Laser Technology.

ii. At least total 6 research publications in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals.

iii. Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching / research / industry out of which at least 2 years shall be Post Ph.D. experience

The establishment of the erstwhile University of Cochin in 1971 was a commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958. The birth of the new University was with the specific purpose of development of higher education with particular emphasis on post-graduate studies and research in applied science, technology, industry and commerce. The University of Cochin was later reorganized as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986.
