Asst Librarian/ Technical Asst./ Stenographer job vacancies in NIT Puducherry (National Institute of Technology Puducherry) on temporary basis

01. Assistant Librarian /01 UR

Essential: Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 60% marks or an equivalent Professional degree or its equivalent with equivalent grade (6.5 in 10 point scale or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record with superior knowledge of computerized library science.

Desirable: PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or PGDCA or equivalent. NET / SLET/ SET qualified candidates shall be preferred.

Pay Scale: Rs. 15,600 – Rs. 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-

Age:35 years

02. Technical Assistant/ 04 (UR – 3 SC- 1 )

Essential: First Class in B. E. / B. Tech in relevant subject or equivalent grade from a recognized University / Institute. Or First Class Diploma in Engineering in relevant Field with excellent academic record.

Age limit : Not exceeding 30 years

Pay Scale: Rs. 9,300 – Rs. 34,800

03. Technical Assistant (System) / UR-1

Essential: First Class in B.E. /B. Tech in relevant subject or equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute. OR First Class Diploma in Engineering in relevant field with excellent academic record.

Age limit : Not exceeding 30 years

04. Superintendent/Accountant /02 (UR – 1,UR - 1 )

Essential: A. Superintendent: (i) First Class Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute in any discipline (In universities without a system of Honours degree, equivalent number of courses) OR

(ii) Master’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with excellent academic record.

(iii) Knowledge of Computer applications viz. word processing, spread sheet.

B. Accountant: (i) First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with Honours in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent in grade from a recognized University or Institute. OR

(ii) Master’s Degree in commerce / MBA (Finance) from a recognized University or Institute with excellent academic record. (iii) Knowledge of computer applications viz. word processing, spread sheet and computer - based accounting software

Age limit : 30 years

Pay Scale : Rs. 9,300 – Rs. 34,800

05. Stenographer / UR - 1

Essential: Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with minimum speed in short hand 80 w.p.m in Stenography.

Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Word processing and spread sheet with advance skills.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200

Age limit : Not exceeding 27 years.

06. Junior Assistant/ 07 (UR – 5, OBC- 1 ,SC – 1 )

Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with a minimum Typing speed of 35 W.P.M and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.

Desirable: Proficiency in other Computer skills, Stenography skills.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200

Age limit : Not exceeding 27 years.

07. Technician/Lab Assistant / 06 (UR – 3 ,OBC- 2, SC – 1

Essential: Technician/Work Assistant Senior Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in appropriate trade. Or Matric with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years duration in appropriate trade. Or

Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration in relevant field from a recognized Polytechnic/Institute.

Laboratory Assistant B.Sc Degree in relevant field from a recognized University/Institute.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200

Age limit : Not exceeding 27 years.

08. Multi Tasking Staff (Attendant / Driver) /02 (UR - 1 ,OBC – 1 )

Essential: Matriculation or ITI pass in relevant subject/ area from a recognized board or Institute. May be adopted as per special requirements of the post in the Institute, if any Driver (PB – 1 with GP of Rs. 1900/-) (i) Matriculation or ITI pass in relevant subject/ area from a recognized board or Institute.

(ii) Possessing a valid driving license for driving an LMV/HMV (iii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (iv) Experience of driving a motor vehicle for at least 3 years (v) Age relaxation may be given to the experienced candidates.

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 20,200

Age limit : Between 18-27 years

Selection Criteria:a) All applications received by the Institute shall be scrutinized and incomplete applications will be out-rightly rejected.

b) Candidates not eligible for the posts shall be disqualified.

c) The Institute reserves the right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for Skill / Proficiency Test and/or Written test and/or Interview. Mere fulfillment of qualification does not entitle a candidate to be called for written test, skill / proficiency test and interview.
