Qualification : 1. Good Academic record with at least 55% of the marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master's degree level, in Forestry* from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University. * Candidates with Master degree/Ph.d in NRM will be given preference 2. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in the concerned/related subject for Assistant Professor post conducted by the ASRB/UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the ICAR/UGC/CSIR i.e (a) For Forest, ASRB/ICAR NET in the concerned subject is prescribed (MSc in NRM/FPU). 3. For the candidates having Master's degree, NET shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. Essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has at least two full length publications ( in journals) having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.d degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption. 4. For the posts of Assistant Professors in the subjects for which SLET/SET is conducted, S1,ET/SET qualification is considered as an eligibility criterion, among others, on par with NET.

Contractual Salary :

Rs. 27000/- (< 5 yrs. teaching exp. & one NAAS rated research paper)

Rs. 30000/- (min. < 5 yrs. teaching exp. & one NAAS rated research paper)

Rs. 32000/- (< 5 yrs. teaching exp. & two NAAS rated research papers)

Rs. 35000/- (min. 5 yrs. teaching exp. & two NAAS rated research paper)

The University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad was established on October 1, 1986. The University has 5 Colleges, 30 Research Stations, 6 Extension Education Units, 5 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and ATIC. The University has its jurisdiction over 7 districts namely Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Uttar Kannada in northern Karnataka. Greater diversity exists in soil types, climate, topography cropping and farming situations. The jurisdiction includes dry-farming to heavy rainfall and irrigated area. Important crops of the region include sorghum, cotton, rice, pulses, chilli, sugarcane, groundnut, sunflower, wheat, safflower etc. The region is also known for many horticultural crops.
