Job Description

Responsibilities

Work with product management, front end, and QA teams using agile methodology.
Translate business requirements into system design.
Design and develop server-side applications from scratch.
Write reusable, testable, and efficient code. Build event based python modules.
Write and implement software solutions that integrate different systems.
Implement security and data protection across different data access layers.
Conduct Root cause analysis, workarounds and preventative steps for reported defects.
Identify and suggest various opportunities to improve efficiency and functionality.
Write functional requirement documents and guides.
Ensure adherence to the best practices, design, and architecture.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

Requirements

Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework (such as Django, Flask, etc).
Advanced coding skills and expertise in Python, Javascript.
Experience working with JavaScript, MySQL, Apache, Nginx, APIs, HTML5 and CSS3- Expertise in a web server stack (we are Python/Django).
Strong expertise in databases (SQL or NoSQL databases).
Ability to work in a cloud environment (AWS, DevOps, Docker).
Familiarity with ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries- Able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system.
Good understanding of server-side templating languages (such as Jinja 2 Mako, etc ).
Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
Knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
Understanding of the differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs desktop, and Optimizing output to match the specific platform.
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
Strong unit test and debugging skills.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git or SVN).
Familiar with single-page app front-end frameworks and MVC patterns.
Open source contributions with a Github link is a plus.
SQL experience will be a plus.
Candidate should be comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, collaborative environment with an ability to solve complex problems.
