Job Description:
• BMS engineer directly responsible for BMS Control’s Design for DCS / PLC retrofit projects
• Engage in Implementation and Testing phases of BMS Controls Design projects
• Engage in BMS commissioning & start-up
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
• Site walk down for site surveys & data collections
• Design, implementation of BMS controls and protection systems
• Process simulation & testing
• Pre-FAT, FAT & clean-up after FAT
• Verification and functional testing of I/O interfaces to field devices
• I/O database partitioning for redundancy and fail safe configurations
• BMS commissioning & start-up
• Supervision of BMS control system retrofits and installations
• Identifying and communicating areas of potential process and design improvements to project manager
• Compliance with internal and customer safety and security requirements
• Working with contractors / sub-contractors
• Fostering smooth collaboration and communication with project stake holders (internal project teams, customer project teams and onsite contractors)
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
B. Tech / B.E (ECE, EEE, I&C, E&I) is essential
• Minimum 3-8 years’ experience of Power Plant process
• BMS Control System Process knowledge
• Advanced troubleshooting, set priorities, problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
• Excellent language and communication skills, both verbal and written required • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and commissioning documents
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from groups of managers, clients and customers
• Ability to interface with vendors & sub-contractors
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
• Experience working for a major Power Plant, BMS manufacturer or BMS Controls vendor
• Proficiency with ISA and SAMA logic symbols, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs),electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics
• Knowledge of NFPA standards
• Experience with designing and implementing control system configuration changes
• Added advantage will be proficiency with one or more DCS platforms (e.g. ABB Pro Control / Bailey INFI 90, Siemens T3000 / TXP, GE Mark VI, Mitsubishi DIASYS Netmation, Invensys, Honeywell TDC3000, MaxDNA, MetsoDNA, Alstom Alspa320 etc.).
