Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
2. Generating leads and cold-calling prospects
3. Meeting with customers/clients face-to-face or over the phone
4. Fostering and developing relationships with customers/clients
5. Understanding the needs of your customers and responding effectively with a plan of how to meet these
6. Thinking strategically, seeing the bigger picture, and setting aims & objectives in order to develop and improve the business
7. Drawing up client contracts depending on the size of the company (this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal)
8. Training members of your team and arranging external training where appropriate
9. Discussing promotional strategies and activities with the marketing department
10. Attending seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate
