JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CASHIER

•  Job Title: Cashier
• Job Purpose: As a cashier in our ethnic store, you will be responsible for handling transactions accurately and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.
• Job Location: KOHAT ENCLAVE ·        
• Years of Experience: 2 years ·        

• Customer service :   Greet customers warmly as they enter the store. Assist customers in finding products and provide recommendations based on their preferences. Answer inquiries regarding product availability, prices, and ingredients. Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the customer experience.
• Cash Handling :  Operate cash registers accurately. Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions securely. Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and balance cash drawers at the end of each shift. Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds following store policies. Uphold strict cash handling procedures to prevent discrepancies or loss. 
• Product Knowledge : Familiarize yourself with the store's diverse product range. Stay informed about new arrivals, promotions, and special offers. Educate customers on the origins, uses, and cultural significance of various products.     
• Merchandising Support :Assist with restocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining cleanliness in the checkout area. Monitor inventory levels and alert management when products need to be reordered. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations.      
• Compliance and safety :Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and sanitation standards. Follow legal requirements for age-restricted products (if applicable) and verify IDs as necessary. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel. ·        

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred.  
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Basic math skills and proficiency in operating cash registers or POS systems. 
• Cultural sensitivity and an interest in learning about different cuisines and traditions.
