JNU has established a Pashto Language Chair in the Centre
for Persian & Central Asian Studies, School of Language, Literature &
Cultural Studies with the financial support of the MHRD/UGC/Govt. of India. The
thrust area of study of the Chair will be teaching and research in Pashto
Language, Literature and Culture Studies
Qualifications
: a. Expertise in Pashto Language,
Literature & Cultural Studies (with Ph.D. in the relevant area). b. Teaching/Research
experience of at least 10 years in Pashto Language, Literature & Culture
studies. c. Good functional knowledge of English/Hindi; d. Publications of
books or articles in journals. e. Experience of guiding research
Pay Scale : The post of Chair Professor shall be in the scale of pay of Rs. 37,400-67,000 + AGP of Rs. 10,000 (pre-revised) and the appointment shall be made for an initial period of 2 years extendable up to a maximum of 5 years.
