About Reap Benefit

Reap Benefit is a not-for-profit social enterprise working in the civic problem-solving space. Our vision is that every young Indian becomes a public problem solver (called Solve Ninja). We will seed a cadre of young Indians (called Solve Ninjas) as citizen leaders who will mobilize action-based democratic, civic participation, and an activated citizenry.

We will do this by building a 'civic muscle' in young people. This muscle is activated and built by solving local issues through local data (understanding and crowdsourcing local data to solve local issues, local solutions (implementing or designing local solutions, and local campaigns (implementing or starting local campaigns). Our work has been recognized by ex-President Barack Obama and has been the recipient of various national and international awards.

About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Taking ownership of the content addition/updating and setting automation in the chatbot
2. Researching and gathering the best practices and effective nudges to drive better engagement on the chatbot
3. Keeping an eye on the chatbot backend and making modifications in the keywords based on the observed user behavior
4. Writing regular updates and observations to the internal team about the chatbot usage and engagement analysis
5. Collaborating with different teams at Reap Benefit and helping them to implement their use cases on the chatbot
6. Creating good and engaging conversational flows that can increase user engagement with the chatbot

Who can apply

Only those candidates can apply who:

1. are available for full time (in-office) internship

2. can start the internship between 18th Dec'20 and 22nd Jan'21

3. are available for duration of 4 months

4. have relevant skills and interests

Other requirements

1. Should be comfortable communicating and promoting the mission and goals of Reap Benefit with members and the public

2. Should be tech-savvy (not expected to code)

3. Should be able to synthesize the data received and put them into action in the best way possible

4. Having proficiency in Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil, or Kannada apart from English is a great advantage

5. Should be a reliable, self-motivated, and independent worker who is also comfortable working in small and large group situations, as well as various work environments, and in management roles as needed

Additional Information

The Solve Ninja chatbot is a WhatsApp-based bot with the vision of helping youth to take the first problem-solving action through challenges and act as a running mate to nudge them to take multiple actions.
