Lucid, LLC seeks a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious network engineer who will work alongside the global IT support team to ensure maximum performance of a high traffic network infrastructure while maintaining system integrity. Company networks include computer, voice, cloud, and firewall. The ideal candidate for the position of network engineer is agreeable, helpful, and efficient as well as having in-depth knowledge of networks with a focus on high-level design and planning.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, analyze, test, and/or modify new software systems as part of the network design process
Work with business units and developers to analyze requirements of software applications to bring them into network and enterprise architecture standards
Design, develop, implement, and maintain cloud network infrastructure (AWS preferred, Gcloud, etc.)
Determine network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements
Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network
Direct network system installation
Select and install appropriate data communications components configured to meet the company’s global networking needs
Program routers, switches, wireless access points, and various network hardware as required
Configure DNS servers
Define, document, and enforce network system standards
Manage owned domain names
Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve the resilience of enterprise and cloud network operations
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems and outages
Schedule network updates and upgrades
Engage in data network fault investigations
Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access
Report network operation status
Participates in the organization of after-hours maintenance efforts
Ensures the delivery of high-quality documentation as required by the scope of a project, including the ability to support knowledge sharing with other teams for ongoing support

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Technology related field
Five (5) years technology or information security related experience
Five (5) years Networking experience
Three (3) years network architecture and deployment experience
Additional certifications preferred, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP),Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA),CompTIA Network+
Demonstrated experience with technology and network policy and administration
Retain familiarity with various network types including LANs, SD-WANs, WLANs, & SANs

Qualifications

Maintains strong problem solving and creative skills, able to act decisively in making solid, informed judgment calls in response to both the technological and critical networking environment and the day-to-day business issues
Sustain the necessary data throughput rate by monitoring networking activity and maintaining existing equipment
Respond to network connectivity issues and resolve any wireless communication issues within the confines of the office and to all global corporate locations
Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors as needed to ensure that the network stays operational
Ability to analyze business processes to improve security assurance posture of the company
Ability to work independently to achieve departmental objectives
Possesses effective communication and presentation skills to articulate policies, procedures and plans to senior level management
Possess a competency in project management methodology
Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud”
