Job Description
Our Enterprise Technology team is looking for a Release Engineer to join the EXP.O NOW team. This project is delivering a new version of several of our externally-facing applications by combining them into a consistent, modern platform. It is a high priority, high visibility project that’s critical toward positioning Expeditors as a technology leader. If you are self-motivated and passionate about technology, customer service, and teamwork, this could be the right position for you!
We need a well-organized go-getter who understands high-level application architecture and build processes and can communicate any needs and gaps effectively to multiple teams. You work to ensure the complex application is properly packaged and ready for deployment, and that all of the steps necessary to release to customers have been followed. You will coordinate with the QA Lead and Configuration Engineer to ensure proper updates are completed in our modern deployment architecture. You work with teams across multiple functional areas to ensure the packaged product incorporates what is needed, including software, help, release notes, and feature flagging.
As the Release Engineer, you will own the final packaging and communication to all teams within the project, while providing the right level of information to program management and user engagement for broadcast to executives and stakeholders. You will own improvements and iterate as the application grows, and be on the forefront of giving Expeditors' customers and employees the new features they need.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
- Ability to coordinate with various teams on reliable and efficient release cycles
- Excellent and effective at communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient with build and deployment tools such as Chef, Jenkins, or Ansible
- Experienced with DevOps / Infrastructure as Code / Continuous Improvement
- Focus on quality and a healthy production environment
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with release process solutions and challenges
- Experienced at leading major systems roll-outs and deployments
- Proficient working with Virtual Machines on-premise and in Azure
