1.National Law University, Delhi (University) through Project 39A is seeking to engage on a contractual basis one Consultant – Graphic Artist to create a graphic novel on the topic Death Penalty and the Criminal Justice in India.

2. About the Organisation: Project 39A draws inspiration from Article 39-A in the Indian Constitution on equal justice and opportunity in the legal system. We work on issues specific to the criminal justice system, and undertake litigation, research and outreach relating to forensics, torture, legal aid, forensic psychiatry and death penalty (for more information on Project 39A, visit www.project39a.com).
3. Responsibilities:
A. Generate ideas to portray concepts based on the work by Project 39A
B. Script, storyboard and illustrate the graphic novel.
C. Travel with the Project 39A team when required.
D. Liaise with the administrative staff and communication teams to ensure that deadlines are met.
E. Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and follow brand guidelines of the organisation.
F. Coordinating the publishing process, making sure that a digital as well as hardcopy of the novel is delivered as per the specifications and within the required time frame.
G. Undertake any other work that may be necessary to fulfill the Project’s objectives.
H. Assurance to present the progress and deliverables in every 3 months of the project.
4. Qualifications:
A. Masters in Visual Communications or related field.
B. Relevant experience of working as a visual communications designer.
C. Previous experience of working on a graphic novel will be preferable.
D. Very high degree of familiarity and expertise in using software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
E. Experience in working with print and digital mediums.
F. Availability to complete the assignment in 12 months.
5. Compensation: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. It will be paid every three months based on the evaluation of deliverables.
6. Duration of the Contract: The contract will be for twelve (12) months duration
