5. IITB Project Recruitment:

A. Project title: Setting up National Virtual Library of India (NVLI)

B. About the project: Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of a Consultant in the project National Virtual Library of India (NVLI),funded by the Ministry of Culture (MOC),at IIT Bombay. National virtual library of India (NVLI),This project is an important part of the larger vision of putting information of the entire Indian cultural heritage in the digital web world. The main goal of this project is to create, collect, encode, and collate various digital artefacts related to Indian culture, in the form of a portal, and to allow relevant information access through web-based search.

6. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

a. Should have a professional Master’s degree (MBA/M.Tech/M.E)

b. Should have work experience of at least 20 years, out of which, at least 5 years should be in the management of large IT projects

c. Should have worked with Government departments for at least 5 years at a senior, advisory, level

d. Should have at least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial role in private/public sector companies, as this project has to be implemented in a delivery mode

e. Should be familiar with the procedures followed in academic institutions for handling such projects and should have experience of working with such Institutions

7. Desirable requirements:

a. It is desirable that that candidate has international exposure, as the portal is used by a large overseas audience

b. As the contents of the portals are sensitive, it is desirable that the candidate has 30 years of experience, with about 10 years of experience working with Government departments in an advisory role

c. It is desirable that the successful candidate is a resident of Delhi NCR, or be willing to shift there

d. It is desirable that the candidate has a GST number, or willing to get one, as it may be required to raise an invoice every month to receive the compensation

8. Job Profile:

a. Coordinate the development of the portal https://www.indianculture.gov.in, which will be referred to simply as portal from now on: a. Coordinate the development of the backend b. Coordinate the development of the frontend c. Coordinate with the funding agency MOC

b. Coordinate the collection of metadata and data from various organisations of MOC. Coordinate the curation of metadata and data received from various organisations of MOC. Coordinate the content creation by the staff members of NVLI, and be responsible to the content that gets hosted on the portal 5. Coordinate the design of the portal and keep it contemporary

c. Interact with MOC on a day to day basis for the following activities:

A. To collate and provide the required statistics about the project

B. Answer parliament questions and RTI

C. Come up with new developments required for the portal on consultation with MOC

D. To write various progress reports for the NVLI project

E. To make presentations to the MOC officials and others about the portal

F. To visit MOC as and when required

d. To help develop and maintain Android and iPhone Apps of the portal . To coordinate the work of the staff members of NVLI at the Delhi office, to keep them cheerful, and to make them work efficiently . Be an overall in-charge of the Delhi office, ensuring that it is a convenient and a safe place to work for all the 20+ staff members. Manage the finances for the Delhi office . Identify the staff need and manage the recruitment of necessary staff members at the Delhi office

e. To provide attendance to the Delhi staff . To coordinate with the Cloud Team at IIT Bombay, and to ensure that the Cloud works without any interruption. To come up with strategies to develop the portal and to popularise it

9. Pay Details: Rs. 10,000 to 15,000
