Job Description

Consultants/Young Professionals Job Opportunity In Ministry of Water Resources River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation on deputation

Consultants (Technical)/05 Post

Minimum Educational qualification: Master's Degree in Water Resources Development or Water Resources Engineering / Water Resource Governance. Master's Degree in Environmental Sciences. Master's Degree in Soda Work

Minimum Working experience: Minimum 5 Years of working Experience in the field of Water Sector. PhD will be treated as 3 Years of experience. 5 Years of working experience in the field of water Sector. 5 Years of working experience in the field of Water. 1 Year Working experience (within 5 Years of working experience) with Community, Civil Society and Government agencies. Ph.D in the field of Water Sector will be treated as 3 Years of experience 

Desirble Knowledge and Skill: Good knowledge of Computer skills. Knowledge of Database systems. Climate Change & Water. Leadership and strategic thinking. Should have good knowledge of linkages of Water and Ecosystem. Should have experience in the field of impact of Climate Change on water. Should have good skills in strategic planning, coordination and management. Good knowledge of Computer skills. Should complete needs-based assessments, including identifying need levels and risks at local level in water sector. Should have vast experience in working with different communities. Should have good communication skills and should translate local water solutions into national policies and national implementing strategies. Good knowledge of Computer skills

Remuneration: Rs.50,000/- to Rs. 2,50,000/- depending upon educational qualification and experience as per the recommendation of consultant evaluation committee(CEC).


Young Professionals (Technical)/04 Post

Minimum Educational qualification: Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences. Master's Degree in Economics. Master's Degree in Hydrology. 

Minimum Work Experience: Year of working experience in the field of Data base systems or Water Sector. M.Tech in Environmental Engineering will be treated as 2 Years of Experience. 1 Year of working experience in the field of Water Sector. 1 Year of working experience in the field of Water.

Desirable Knowledge and skills: Should have good knowledge of linkages of Water and Ecosystem. Should have experience in the field of impact of climate change on water. Should have good skills and strategic planning, coordination and management. Should help to translate technical climate science and risk management topics into local terms that are more I meaningful. Good Knowledge of Computer skills. Should have knowledge of Green GDP. Should have worked on water markets. Should have good knowledge of economics. Good Knowledge of Computer skills. Should have vast knowledge in hydrology, geology and remote sensing. Should have better understanding on Urban hydrology. 

Remuneration: Rs.30,000/- to Rs.1,00,000/- depending upon Professionals(o4) educational qualification and experience as per the recommendation of consultant evaluation committee(CEC)

Age-limit: Maximum age limit for appointment of Young Professionals shall be as under 
1. Consultant (Tech.)-4o Year 
2. Young Professional (Tech)-3o Year 
 
Application and Selection: Method of application- Submission of application with CV (Annexure — C) as per the advertisement of the Ministry. All the received applications are short listed based on requisite eligibility to be called for personal interview an specified date. The selection shall be made on the basis of recommendations of Consultant Evaluation Committee (CEC) constituted for the purpose by the MoWR, RD & GR. NWM Secretariat will issue communication to the selected Consultants/Young Professionals to join. The candidate will be required to produce original certificates in support of fulfilling the eligibility criteria, etc., as to educational qualification and experience during interview and at the time of joining.

The history of the subject ‘Irrigation & Power’ dates back to 1855 when it was made the responsibility of the then newly created Department of the Public Works but not much impetus was given to irrigation work till the famine of 1858, when it was decided to take up canal construction work on an extensive scale and accordingly, an Inspector General of Canals was appointed. In 1863, taking into consideration the importance attached to development of irrigation facilities in the country, it was decided to place this subject under the charge of an irrigation expert, with the designation of Inspector General of Irrigation.  He functioned under the administrative control of Secretary, Public Works Department.
