Want to be a part of our team?The Contracts Specialist is the mid- level job in the Contract Lifecycle Management job family, reporting to a senior manager and taking their guidance from the Senior Contracts Specialist. They operate in medium complexity environments and deal with medium to large clients at a business unit or regional level. The Contracts Specialist negotiates, agrees and compiles legally binding contracts between Dimension Data and client or vendors with the view of establishing a mutually favourable operating relationship. The Contracts Specialist partners with commercial and bid office colleagues to create contracts for medium sized to larger deals according to the regional definition. They take responsibility for the managing the entire contract life cycle from contract administration, activation, renewal and deactivation. Working at NTT Contract Compilation Contracts Specialists develop a deep understanding of the product solution or service required by the client to define the best contractual agreement between Dimension Data and the client. Their intention is to minimise risk and optimise revenue for Dimension Data whilst ensuring optimal value is received by the client. They also apply their knowledge of the business to establish contracts with vendors and sub-contractors. They partner with the sales organisation and other internal stakeholders to ensure that products and services are offered or procured with appropriate competitive terms and conditions to ensure profitability for Dimension Data. They take responsibility for drafting and compiling baseline contracts for straight sales opportunities or for requests for proposal and tender activities. They focus on:

licensing agreements They are very good at creating clear and succinct documentation and writing business correspondence. Contract Management The Contracts Specialist identifies risks associated with contracts and make recommendations to mitigate and eliminate these risks. They are party to negotiating contract terms with clients or vendors and they are responsible for noting and applying agreed changes to revised contracts. They advise on contract deviations and non-standard contract clauses. It is their responsibility to ensure legal compliance for all contracts under their control. During the contracting process, the Contracts Specialist acts as main point of contact for clients or vendors and they drive the process of obtaining approvals, applying changes and pursuing review cycles. They will also work towards the speedy finalisations of negotiation processes and ensuring that contracts are signed and finalised by all relevant parties. The Contracts Specialist will act as final point of escalation. They communicate progress in a timely way and keep all stakeholders informed. They take full responsibility for the contract lifecycle management and ensure that the administration and management functions are performed that are required to ensure timely and professional contract finalisation. They manage the contract deactivation process as and when required and ensure the required systems are updated accordingly. Contract Administration The Contracts Specialist will maintain and manage contract documentation electronically and in physical formats when required. They ensure that all contract administration duties related to their contracts are executed timeously by assigned Contract Administrators. They ensure that all renewal and new billing takes place in line with the agreed process. They ensure that the relevant systems are updated with the required information from the contracts process. They review system data for accuracy and use the renewal plan to prepare renewal documentation for distribution to the relevant clients. Stakeholder Management They will also establish relationships with vendors and partners when required to obtain relevant contract details and to negotiate terms of engagement. They act as advisors to management and other colleagues regarding contractual rights and obligations and when required they assist in interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Reporting Contracts Specialists maintain contract logs and they compile reports on contract activity, distributing these to the relevant forums. Behavioural skills They recommend improvements to policies and processes and help to implement improvements. These employees have a good working knowledge of contractual legislation and they are proficient in structuring of contracts and all associated parts. They need to be skilled at negotiation and able to achieve agreement amongst stakeholders with varying viewpoints. They have good analytic ability and above average financial skills. Their ability to work well with internal teams and to communicate clearly contributes to their success in the position.
