The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Business and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries. Your responsibilities You will be responsible for planning of control and protection systems for power electronic converter projects. Provide specification, programming and documentation of the control software as well as the fabrication and test documentation for the hardware. Specifying auxiliary components and define technical requirements and interfaces with sub suppliers. Verifying your software on the real-time simulator as well as in the project hardware. Operating specialist support for the service group as well as for the customer. Supporting the sales department in the concept and tender phase. Perform commissioning support and customer training on site. Handle the technical documentation of your work. Your background B.E Electrical & Electronics Engineer or M.Tech in Power systems or Power Electronics. Sound experience in process control and software design (including 800xA Control Builder) More than 3 Years of experience in the relevant field. Very good knowledge in the field of control engineering and power electronics Should be a team player with strong communication skills. Fast learner for new techniques/applications and procedures. Exposure to working in multicultural / international environment. Excellent fluency in English and/or German. Should be willing to travel to sites in India and Abroad at short notice for support work.
