Core Responsibilities
Assessment & Goal Setting: Evaluate patient health status, including BMI and waist circumference, to identify nutritional needs and create personalized, sustainable weight loss plans.
Behavioral Modification: Use therapeutic techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing) to help clients overcome emotional eating, stress-induced eating, and self-sabotaging habits.
Nutritional Guidance: Educate clients on balanced, sustainable diets, portion control, and healthy food choices.
Physical Activity Coaching: Develop and recommend safe, personalized exercise routines suited to the client's fitness level.
Progress Monitoring & Support: Conduct regular check-ins to monitor weight, track progress, and provide ongoing encouragement and accountability.
Medical Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team—including doctors, dietitians, and bariatric surgeons—to provide comprehensive care, especially for patients preparing for or recovering from bariatric surgery.
Addressing Comorbidities: Educate patients on managing obesity-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.
