Job Purpose

The Dashboard Developer reports into the Dashboard Development Manager, and is part of a broader global and multicultural analytical team operating from various locations. His/her role is to develop, maintain and improve the Global Business Services (GBS) operational KPI's and metrics dashboard and provide dashboarding services within and possibly outside of the GBS organization.

The GBS operational KPI's and metrics dashboard is an essential tool, leveraged throughout the entire organization to run and monitor the GBS operations. The developer work will enable clear visualization and measurement of the GBS operational performance, allowing for improved transparency within the organization and at destination of internal customers. The purpose of the Developer is also to ensure current and future viability and performance of the dashboard.

The Developer will benefit from a high level of autonomy with regards to technical developments, although he will implement these technical developments according to priorities and strict product specifications defined by his/her principals and line manager or project team. His/her main responsibility is to performance development work as per design in a timely fashion.

Over time the Developer will be exposed to numerous data integration challenges which will strengthen his/her development technical skills while acquiring a deep understanding of the AkzoNobel information technology structure. The Developer will therefore be ideally positioned to consider roles in the AkzoNobel Information Management organization, or such as Dashboard Development Manager.

Key Accountabilities

Ensure future viability and stability of the GBS operational KPI's and metrics dashboard:

• Anticipate modifications from new version release and ensure compatibility
• Establish, revisit and update design principles with the Information Management team
• Work in collaboration with other developers (HANA, Business Warehouse, etc.) & analysts
• Team up with the Self Service Business Intelligence team to deliver on topics such as dashboard performance and stability, suitable server sizing, or Single Sign On enablement
• Provide feedback to Tibco regarding points of improvement of the Spotfire software (or equivalent in case of platform/technology changes)
• Keep detailed technical documentation complete and up to date
  
  

Key Activities

Provide dashboarding services and expertise within and outside of the GBS organization

• Assist the KPI Reporting Team in creation and presentation of training materials
• Support the efforts to setup report broadcasting and to craft broadcasted reports
• Build proof-of-concepts based on internal customers and possibly join project work
• Take on the development and the integration of additional dashboards
  
  

Experience

• Bachelor or Master's Degree preferably in Information Management
• 4 to 8 year work experience in developer roles in a global or multinational environment
• Ability to work with large amounts of information and see the 'bigger picture'
• Comfortable with juggling facts, figures, and number crunching
• Ability to work with a cross regional, multicultural and virtual team
• Ability to communicate with and present effectively and remotely to various stakeholders with variable levels of system knowledge
• Ability to clearly understand, anticipate and render customer' expectations
• At ease with processes
• Project management skills a plus
• Previous experience with GBS organization a plus
• Some understanding of Finance, Human Resources and other functions
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle pressure
• Mastering other languages a plus
• Impeccable work ethics
