SUMMARY: The Data Center Facility Engineers are responsible for supporting the 24-hour operations of GPX’s Data Centers, 24-hour support and weekend work is required.

• Responsible for ensuring GPX meets if uptime and SLA commitments by monitoring electrical and/or mechanical system performance, identifying anomalies which may result in equipment failure, and developing plans for resolution.
• ADVANCED knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems including system architecture and design, system operational parameters and performance criteria, and fault isolation and problem resolution strategies. 
• Assist in interfacing with OEM vendors for problem identification and resolution.
• Operation and maintenance of HT/LT switchgear and protection system involving Transformers, RMU, Switchboard, UPS, STS, and RPP.
• Participates in the design and commissioning of GPX’s data centers.
• Responsible for ongoing testing of GPX’s critical electrical and mechanical systems.
• Follows and executes procedures, standards and technical training related to equipment operations and maintenance. Schedule and carry out periodic inspections and routines maintenance of all data center equipment as per OEM requirement and maintain equipment checklist and service reports.
• Operation and maintenance of FAS, NOVAC, VESDA and WLD system.
• Prepare and maintain records of Change Management, Method of Procedure (MOP),Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). 
• Recommends changes for improvement as appropriate.
• Ability to operate all data center facility equipment including BMS, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, and computer/network hardware according to procedures.
• Schedule and oversee periodic inspections and routines of all data center equipment.
• Carry out troubleshooting and resolution of failures in a safe and effective manner.
• Respond to emergency situations in an efficient, friendly and timely manner.
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly shift reports on all incidents to Data Center Management.
• Responds to phone calls, emails, fax and web requests in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

To perform effectively in this position, the candidate must have: 

• The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience within the data center environment as a Facility Engineer or Data Center Engineer.
• ADVANCED knowledge of electrical (UPS, DG, STS, ATS),mechanical (Chiller, CRAH),security and access, fuel systems, and fire systems.
• Ability to accurately utilize a personal computer with working knowledge which Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Access, Microsoft Project, Cable Management System, Trouble Ticket System, etc.
• Very effective communication and customer service skills, good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to follow written procedures and policies with minimal supervision.     
• Ability to be reached by mobile and/or landline phone when on call.
• Ability to work various shifts and to fill in as needed in emergency staffing situations.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

The Facility or Data Center Engineer should have a 3-year university diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
