We are looking for highly energetic, self-starting, proactive champions with proven track record of customer relationship management & retention to join our Success team. You’ll be one of the key players in the team responsible for building Ally as we are on pace to achieve our rocketspeed goals.

What does a data analytics engineer do at Ally?

• Design, develop, install, test and maintain data integrations from a variety of formats including files, database extracts(SQL & NoSQL) and external APIs into data stores (including Snowflake, ElasticSearch, S3, etc) using ETL tools, techniques and programming languages like Python, SQL, etc.
• Own and deliver high performing systems (not just data pipelines) and help the team scale them up, to endure ever increasing traffic.
• Become a product owner (not just a system owner) over-time by understanding the end results of building systems.
• Work closely with the business and technical stakeholders across the company to understand the business requirement and translate into technical specifications.
• Own the platform end-to-end from requirements to post production working closely with other teams
• Manage business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
• Enable orchestration of data across systems such as Salesforce and Marketo
• Manage job orchestration using tools like Airflow.
• Develop reliable, near real time and batch data pipelines that make data easily consumable by end users and other systems
• Develop tools to monitor, debug, and analyze data pipelines
• Lead architecture design and discussions
• Work with management to align solutions and data integration with business strategy and objectives
• Collaborate with other team members such as data analysts, data scientists, and revenue operations teams.
• Ensure that all solutions meet the business/company requirements for solution data reliability, quality and disaster recovery.
• Operate in a self-propelled manner

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field or equivalent experience and certifications will be considered
• 5+ years of experience in cloud data pipelines (Fivetran, Stitch, and other loaders),modern data lakes and warehouses (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.),visualization and business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental data management and analytics initiative
• 3+ years experience building data pipelines & ETL
• Experience in working with - flat files, XML, JSON, Avro files and databases
• Extremely Proficient in SQL, Python, R, or other scripting language
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and metadata management
• Proven capabilities for strong written and oral communication skills
