Job Description

Aspect Software, Inc. is a multinational Contact Center technology and Customer Experience company providing comprehensive CCaaS, CCaaS and Workforce Optimization solutions for large Enterprise customers.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily operation of our database deployments around the world. The role is influential in bringing forward great ideas and advancing Aspect’s Database Platforms. You will install, configure, and maintain several different types of database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or MongoDB. There is also a heavy focus on automation and tools such as Ansible and Rundeck.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, deploy, and maintain Aspect's database infrastructure
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database system alarms and alerts
• Create and maintain documentation and improve team processes.
• Investigate ways to automate repetitive processes.
• Respond to escalations within Aspect Cloud Operations
• Mentor team members on database best practices and help advance their technical ability
• Analyze metrics for capacity planning and potential performance issues.
• Assist in development and product engineering as it relates to our database deployments

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 3 to 5 years experience and expert level knowledge in any one of SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or MongoDB.
• 2 + years experience with Postgres, MongoDB or MySQL is highly advantageous
• 2 + years experience with Windows or Linux administration.
• Familiarity with networking and storage concepts and how they integrate with databases.
• Experience with Ansible, Rundeck or other automation tool is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to Kubernetes is also advantageous.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Experience with Database High Availability Technologies
• Scripting experience such as Powershell, Python, YAML or any other.
• Candidates are expected to exhibit good judgment in all cases and be comfortable making decisions.
• Able to act as a mentor to other team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work extra hours if needed
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or similar experience
