Summary
Supervises a group of individuals involved in the development, support, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and installing of business applications programs. Responsibilities

Creates database models and designs using appropriate software tools.

Creates and documents maintenance and maintenance plans.

Creates, documents and implements disaster recovery and (business continuity) testing.

Designs and documents replication schemas.

Designs security architect.

Designs reporting and archiving systems.

Reviews project requests.

Participates in design reviews.

Reviews design for performance and performance tuning.

Produces costing and ROI information.

Provides scope and limitation of projects.

Participates in project planning as required.

Works with source code control systems.

Provides service desk support as defined in the OLA.

Performs duties as prescribed by the Service Level Agreement.

Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

3 or more year's experience.

Have an advanced knowledge of DB and design concepts.

Thorough knowledge of at least 1 platform and familiarity with alternate platform.

Understand how security impacts applications.

Understanding of replication and high availability (HA).

Thorough understanding of networking (TCP/IP)

Mentoring and training of DB I

Thorough understanding of SQL.

Complete understanding of performance determination and direction.

Project management skills.

Understanding of distribution models.

Understanding of database connection methods.

Understanding systems analysis concepts.

Thorough understanding of storage sub systems.

Familiarity with enterprise level maintenance tools.

Good communication skills.

Mid to advanced business knowledge. Education Requirement 

Bachelor's Degree, First Degree, Trade/Vocational School certificate or Equivalent required. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or computer related discipline required. Physical Requirements

The person in this position may need to occasionally walk or otherwise traverse, stand, exert up to 10 lbs. of force to push, pull, lift or otherwise move objects, bend, reach, kneel, and/or twist for minimal periods of time. Employees should not attempt to lift, pull or push a load in excess of 50 lbs. without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, pushing or pulling in an awkward position.
