Your Role and Responsibilities
You are a Unix Server DBA Who will work as a member of our internal software development team. Who will play major role in delivering technology to the IBMers. Our applications are built by self-directed, end-to-end development teams, and we are looking for a DBA who will collaborate with multiple squads and provide technical leadership to implement the Pricing@IBM strategy.
Responsibilities
This position is for a Unix Server DBA supporting our migration to IBM cloud services infrastructure. Job Duties include:

• Build new cloud-based data center services environments for Pricing@IBM initiatives.
• Assist with identifying and planning potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities.
• Serve as overall subject matter expert on Unix Server DBA technology and market capabilities/trends.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements.
• Formulate detailed network, storage, and compute design specifications for stable and secure computing operations in a dynamic cloud-based environment.
• Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute technologies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the administration of DB2 UDB V10.x and V11.x, Partitioning and HA for databases
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Instance, DB creation and setting up backup using TSM
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in troubleshooting DB2 UDB issues in Development / Test / Production environments (analyzing db2diag.log / notification log / memory tracker / db2pd and etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in SQL (knowledge of DDL, DML) especially in the database administration and management area and other Db2 Tools is required
• Good experience in Backup and Recovery using TSM, online and offline backups, export/import is mandatory
• Proven experience in UNIX and supporting DB2 on UNIX and Windows is mandatory
• Working experience in UNIX shell and awk scripting
• Demonstrated experience in performance tuning experience, including SQL, DB and DBM, reading explain plans
• Demonstrated experience in applying patches
• Proven experience in cloning databases and migrating databases between platforms is mandatory
• Demonstrated experience in installation of DB2 client and other DB2 related products is required
• Demonstrated experience in database upgrades between various versions is mandatory
• Demonstrated experience in change management process and configuration management is required
• Demonstrated experience in capacity planning knowledge, especially the ability to aggregate day to day challenges into a bigger capacity planning effort is preferred
• Demonstrated experience in Space & Backup monitoring as well as DB health monitoring proactively
• Demonstrated experience in 24x7 production support, and willingness to provide 24x7 support preferred
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and ability to display analytical thinking for problem solving
• Demonstrated experience in the administration of DB2 Warehouse on Cloud (formerly dashDB)
• Demonstrated experience in moving data to Cloud

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated experience in Disaster Recovery solutions including designing, configuring and ongoing support is preferred
• Knowledge of Enterprise backup solutions is preferred
